Sayeeda by Amber: A new chapter in a century-old book
Sayeeda by Amber makes functional art in marble — trays, coasters, condiment and bath sets, bowls, bookends, games and carved sculpture. The family behind it has worked stone for a century and a half, across four generations, beginning in the quarries of Makrana, Rajasthan.
Every piece is 100% natural marble, so the veining in yours will be its own. Many carry brass or stone set by hand in the pietra dura tradition — inlay cut piece by piece and laid into a marble ground, a craft with Indian lineage.
The house is led by Amber Ali Choudhary, a visual storyteller who traded the pace of digital production for the pace of marble. The aim is simple: pieces crafted to last for generations, not seasons.
